(Laredo, TX ) City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas is looking for Laredo’s most passionate and proud citizens to participate in the inaugural Ambassador program, to help welcome visitors to the community and represent the very best of our fair city.
“What better way to welcome guests to Laredo, Texas than with a group of friendly Laredo volunteer ambassadors,” said Mayor Salinas. “Everyone who is passionate about their community is encouraged to submit an application. The Laredo Ambassador Program will allow you to get more involved with the latest events, conferences, tournaments and the list goes on!”
As a Laredo Ambassador, representatives will work hand-in-hand with City officials and the Laredo Convention and Visitors Bureau. The mission of this program is to have friendly and knowledgeable guides who can assist not only visitors, but also locals alike with directions and suggestions to restaurants, museums, shops, hotels, and other attractions.
All potential participants must apply, submit to a screening process and go through the Laredo CVB Destination Training program. The free one-day (8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.) training includes a guided tour given by the Webb County Heritage Foundation in the heart of downtown Laredo, followed by a tour of Laredo Community College and the Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Center along with visits to other key attractions. A city official will also be hopping on to the motor coach to bring participants up to speed on the latest developments within Laredo.
