Mayor Salinas’ Comments on Passing of Candelario “Cande” Rodriguez

(Laredo, Tx)-The City of Laredo wishes to express its most sincere condolence to the family of Mr. Candelario Rodriguez Jr. for the passing of our good friend “Cande” Rodriguez. Candelario “Cande” Rodrgieuz Jr. was a valued good friend and a true community advocate who will be sorely missed” said Mayor Raul G. Salinas. “Cande” was a son of Laredo, a graduate of Martin High School and someone who never said no to help community” Mayor Salinas further stated.
Of the numerous groups he assisted and participated he was most very proud of his work with LULAC and the American Legion. He proudly served in the United Sates Navy and was a strong supporter of veterans services and rights.
One of the groups he recently participated in and was very passionate of the work, was the Mayors Blue Ribbon Committee for Persons with Disabilities. “he was a strong advocate for persons with special needs, those without voice and for the rights and services for veterans” said Dr. Hector F. Gonzalez Director of the city of Laredo health department. “He will be truly missed”.
Services will be held on Monday at Fred Dickey Funeral Home 4502 Thomas from 4-9 pm. May he rest in peace.
