Rebekah, a 5th grade student at St. Peter’s Memorial School, will cut 18 inches of hair to donate it to Wigs for Kids, an organization that collects hair and provides wigs for kid cancer patients.
“She’s really excited to cut her hair,” said Fernando Morales, her father. “Rebekah had seen other kids growing their hair and donating it, so that really inspired her to do the same. While my wife and I are extremely proud of her for doing this, I have to admit, I’m personally quite fond of her beautiful long hair,” he said. “But what a wonderful cause and initiative that she’s doing. I can’t say enough about how that makes us feel,” Morales concluded.
According to Morales, Rebekah’s hair is already past her waist; her hair has been growing for years, only getting an occasional trim once a year.
