FOURTH MURDER IN LAREDO
On Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at approximately 2:11am, the Laredo Police Department received a call of an assault by 900 Montezuma St. Officers and EMS were immediately dispatched to the location and discovered a male subject lying on side in the back yard of a vacant house by said address. Paramedics indicated that the subject had expired. Officers secured the crime scene and requested detectives from Crimes Against Persons Division. Webb County Medical Examiner, Dr. Stern arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim dead at 4:22 am. The crime scene was then photographed and processed for evidence. An autopsy was later performed on same date and was ruled as homicide due to blunt force trauma to the head. Officers located several witnesses who were brought to Laredo Police Department to be interviewed. A black Chevy Camaro was seen by witnesses leaving the scene of the assault.
During the course of the investigation when canvassing the area near the crime scene, Detectives noticed a black Chevy Camaro near a store which matched the description given by the witnesses. Detectives identified the driver as Cruz Ramos Jr. and the passenger as Priscilla Solis, girlfriend of Ramos. Both subjects were taken to the Laredo Police Department for questioning. After they were both read their Constitutional Rights in separate interviews both subjects decided to waive their rights and admitted that their participation in the murder of the victim. Priscilla Solis admitted that after a verbal confrontation with the victim at the scene both her and her boyfriend left without incident. Soon thereafter both she and her boyfriend decided to come back and confront the victim by 900 Montezuma St. where her boyfriend Cruz Ramos Jr. began to allegedly assault the victim with the wooden ax handle while she too was assaulting the victim by kicking him. Cruz Ramos Jr. also admitted to the attack on the victim with a wooden ax handle because he was angry that the victim had insulted both him and his girlfriend. Both Cruz Ramos (21) and Priscilla Solis-Garcia (19) were arrested and charged with Murder Felony 1. They were booked and remanded to Webb County Jail under no bond. The identity of the victim has been made but will not be made public until notification of next of kin. The victim was a 28 yr. old Caucasian male.
