“El Mundo” Burglar arrested

During the past several weeks there has been several Burglaries reported by the downtown area. Most of the burglaries are occurring during the night time & early morning hours. The Crimes Against Property Division worked in conjunction with the Bike Patrol Division, sharing information that been gathered on possible suspects and methods of operation. The ongoing burglary investigations revealed enough evidence to link a known recidivist burglar to the break in at El Mundo, located on 419 Flores on January.

Gerardo Leal, age 40, was arrested and charged with Burglary of Building SJF, he was booked and processed and later taken to the Webb County Jail, under a $ 50,000 bond by Justice of the Peace O. Liendo. The Burglary investigations in the Downtown area are still continuing.
