Weekend US 83-SH 359 Lane Closures -

EXPECT DELAYS AT MID-DAY

Effective October 18-19, 2008

Beginning daily at 7:30 a.m. US 83 at SH 359 (Three Points) Project in Laredo-Webb County
To facilitate the installation of overhead signs over US 83 main lanes at SH 359
.



Weather permitting the aforementioned work will take place as specified. The traveling public should expect alternating lane closures, be prepared to merge and expect delays. Schedule follows:   

Saturday, October 18, 2008:


The US 83 southbound right lane (in depressed area) will be closed at 7:30 a.m. to allow the assembly of steel structures and overhead signs, at which time traffic flow on US 83 southbound will be reduced to one southbound lane.  However at 12:30 p.m. ALL US 83 southbound traffic will be stopped for approximately 10 minutes for installation of overhead signs over the US 83 southbound lanes.

Sunday, October 19, 2008:


The Arkansas bridge over the US 83 main lanes will be closed at 7:30 a.m. to allow further assembly of steel structures and overhead signs.

SH 359 westbound (WB) traffic approaching the US 83-SH 359 project should expect left and right, alternating lane closures, which will affect traffic on two approach ramps: 1) SH 359 merging to US 83 northbound (NB), and 2) SH 359 exit ramp to Arkansas / Guatemozin, and if desired, for eventual travel on US 83 southbound (SB) through the Arkansas bridge to the US 83 (upper level) southbound frontage road (SBFR). 

The traveling public is asked to should drive with extreme caution, and observe all safety signs, traffic control devices and flaggers in the work zone area.
