LPD Arrest Suspected Burglars
On Jan. 16, 2008, a burglary of habitation was reported by the 300 block of Plymouth. Several thousand dollars worth of jewelry was stolen. On Jan. 25, 2008, the complainant of the burglary notified Investigators that several credit cards were also stolen from the residence. He also stated the credit cards had been used at several locations to make purchases. Evidence was obtained which identified the perpetrators who had used the stolen credit cards. Judge Oscar Liendo issued warrants # 1179 and # 1180 for Maria Guadalupe Garcia D.O.B. 6-9-76 and Jose Willie Ramos D.O.B. 5-13-73 for Credit Card Abuse SJF. Maria Garcia was arrested at her residence at 600 block of Lyon. She was taken to the Webb Co. Jail in lieu of a $60,000 bond set by Judge Oscar Martinez. Jose Ramos was served with the warrant at the Webb County Jail since he was in custody on other charges. Over $100,000 worth of jewelry was recovered from various locations. All the property was recovered and placed into evidence.
On February 27,2009, Jose Willie Ramos was also served with four additional warrants, warrant # 9346 and # 9348 for Credit Card Abuse SJF (7 counts), warrant # 5397 for Theft F/2, and warrant # 5398 for Burglary of Habitation F/2. He was remanded to the Webb Co. Jail in lieu of a combined bond of $495,000 set by Judge Oscar Liendo and Judge Oscar Martinez.
On March 2, 2009, Maria Guadalupe Garcia was arrested on warrant # 5399 and # 5400 for Burglary of Habitation F/2 and TheftF/2. She was booked at the station and taken to the Webb Co. Jail in lieu of a $150,000 bond set by Judge Oscar Martinez. Also, Jose Luis Garcia, 03-13-70, was served with warrant # 9347 for Credit Card Abuse SJF (3 counts). He was booked and then taken to the Webb Co. Jail in lieu of$75,000 bond set by Judge Oscar Liendo.
