AGGRAVATED ROBBERY

Aggravated Robbery

              On Saturday, November 29, 2008, at approximately 4:23am, a victim, Leonardo Vargas, reported that some known suspects/acquaintances had committed an aggravated robbery by 1511 Moreno Street. The victim had gone out with some known acquaintances from his residence of 3200 Garfield Street to a residence by 1511 Moreno Street; whereupon: he was beaten with a baseball bat and had money taken from his possession. After getting the information from the victim, officers went the residence on 1511 Moreno, and they were successful in arresting 2 of the 3 suspects identified in the robbery. Officers arrested John Paul Iruegas, age 30, date of birth 10-13-78, and Jose Angel Martinez, Jr., age 31, date of birth 06-10-77, whom they were charged with Aggravated Robbery Felony 2 Degree. The two were held with no bond. The case remains under investigation and more arrests maybe forthcoming.
