JOBS BILL PROVIDES NEARLY $1 MILLION
TO RENOVATE LAREDO COURTHOUSE
MAJOR NEW FUNDS WILL IMPROVE ENERGY EFFICIENCY, CREATE NEW JOBS, AND STRENGTHEN CITY INFRASTRUCTURE
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Henry Cuellar today announced that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the job-creation bill that Congress recently passed into law, has provided a further $992,000 to the city of Laredo. The funds will provide for major renovations to convert the Laredo Federal Building-Courthouse, 1300 Victoria Street, into a high-performance, energy-efficient building.
“In today’s challenging economy, these new funds will continue the work of creating new jobs, improving our infrastructure, and helping Laredo families get back on the path to success,” Congressman Cuellar said.
Under the provisions of the funding specified by the U.S. General Services Administration, the project may include lighting upgrades, control upgrades, and overall system tune-ups.
Further details and an announcement event will follow soon.
