MALE FOUND DEAD ONE ARRESTED

On Sunday, September 07, 2008 at approximately 10:45 AM Laredo Police officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Monterrey St., on a welfare concern call. Upon their arrival they were met by a complainant who told officers that a male subject had been seen with a bloody shirt. The complainant was concerned because the male subject might be under the influence of drugs.

Upon further investigation, officers located the male subject at 2902 Monterrey Street. As the officers obtained a key from a relative, they were able to enter the residence thru the back door at which time the officers discovered a crime scene. Also discovered was a deceased male subject.

The deceased male subject was identified as 40 year old Jose Alberto Melecio.

The Webb County Medical Examiner was requested and pronounced the victim dead at 12:35 PM.

After further investigation, the male subject was arrested at the Laredo Police Department.

Booked and charged with Murder F/1 was:

Luis Martin Gonzalez Age 22

The male subject was then transported to the Webb County Jail where a $300,000.00 dollar bond was set by J.P. R. Rangel.

Investigators from Crimes Against Persons are heading the investigation.
