Gateway City Book Lovers Club – and Jewelry

This month’s book up for discussion at the Gateway City Book Lovers Club at the Laredo Public Library is “The Necklace” by Cheryl Jarvis.  Based on a true story about a social experiment with an incredibly expensive diamond necklace the story is sure to delight and intrigue all that read the book.

“Can you imagine if such an experience were to take place here in Laredo?” mused Pam Burrell, librarian in charge of adult service at the Laredo Public Library.  “You have to read the book, just to ask the question, ‘if only,’” she added.

The group will meet on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room at the Laredo Public Library, located at 1120 East Calton Road.  

“I encourage everyone to stop by and participate in the discussion, even if they haven’t started reading the book.  It will make their reading experience just as enjoyable, so when you get to the part that made everyone laugh, or cry, or question, or all three, you will be able to appreciate it even that much more,” she concluded.  

The book is available for check out at the Laredo Public Library or for purchase at B. Dalton Bookseller.

The Gateway City Book Lovers Club meets every third Wednesday of the month to discuss different books.  Everyone is invited to join.  There are no fees or requirements – simply a love of books!
