DWI Arrests this weekend

The Laredo Police Department made 11 DWI arrests from Friday Night (December 19) thru Sunday Night (December 21).  These arrests were made possible through a grant from Texas Department of Transportation which pays overtime exclusively for police officers to enforce DWI laws and add additional vigilance during the holiday season.

            Remember to designate a “sober” driver if anyone plans to drink alcoholic beverages.  This weekend will entail an enhanced more concentrated enforcement effort through two separate grants from the Texas Department of Transportation which are the Comprehensive STEP grant and the recently acquired IDM or “Impaired Driver Mobilization” grant.  These grants will place additional officers throughout different parts of the city specifically targeting intoxicated drivers.
