 One of the many wonderful aspects of our country’s political system is the freedom to post signs in support of candidates running for office.  However, once the elections are over, it is important for all those candidates and their supporters, to help keep a community clean by removing all signs.
 A City of Laredo ordinance allows posters, portable and painted signs to be posted in the days leading up to the campaign.  Once the election is over, those posters and signs must be removed by candidates or property owners …

Webb County Run-Off’s on for April 13th!!

The position for Webb County Judge will be decided on April 13th that is when Tano Tijerina will square off against the incumbent who came out on top in yesterday’s election with a total of 11,615 to Tijerina’s 10,969,  Andres “Andy” Reyes came in third with 5,242 of the votes, with Louis H. Bruni coming in fourth with a total of 1,491.   
Margie Ibarra will serve four more years as County Clerk taking 67.82% of the vote to Longino Garcia’s 8, 829 votes or 32.18%.  The race for Webb County District …

Candidates Visit Polls One Last Time Today!

Ricardo Urdiales and Supporters Celebrate End of Early Voting!

Webb County Commissioner Pct.2 Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina holds Fundraiser

Webb County Commissioner Pct.2 Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina held a plate sale at Palacio Los Presidentes on Saturday February 13th. Supporters arrived in support of her campaign and purchased Sirloin Steak plates that were served with Rice and Beans.  The event started at 11a.m. sharp.  Commissioner Tijerina was accompanied by friends and family who helped in the organization of the event and the sale of tickets.  Early voting starts tommorrow February 16th and runs till February 26th.  Election Day is on March 2, 2010.  Click here to view pics of event.

Justice of the Peace Candidate for Pct.2 Place 1 Ricardo Urdiales Hosts Valentines Dance

Justice of the Peace Pct.2 Place1 Candidate Ricardo Urdiales held a Valentines Dance for members of local Adult Day Cares.  The event started early at 11a.m. and went on thru 2p.m.  Attendee’s had an opportunity to meet the candidate and ask questions about his campaign.  The event continued with dancing and lunch that was served by the candidate Ricardo Urdiales and his supporters.  Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in a raffle that was free in which winners received free prizes that ranged from Valentines Chocolate boxes to novelty frames.  …

Do not place campaign signs on or within any public right of way as State law specifically prohibits this. This includes trees, telephone poles, traffic signs, and other objects on the right of way. Signs in violation will be removed by TxDOT employees, a county sheriff, or a constable, depending upon the jurisdiction.
