Laredo Heat Announce New Head Coach

Coach Israel Collazo Remains, Will Handle Youth Initiatives
 Laredo, TX : The Laredo Heat Soccer Club, members of the United Soccer Leagues (USL) Premier Development League (PDL) Mid-South Division have named Fernando Hernandez as the new head man for the 2012 season.
 The Heat, founded in 2004 and playing as a full-fledged PDL Franchise since 2005 made the head coaching change announcement today.
 Fernando Hernandez has been on the Heat sideline since 2007 as Israel Collazo’s assistant coach.

Martin-Nixon football game tickets on sale Monday October 31st

(Laredo, Tx)- The Laredo Independent School District’s Athletic Department announces the sale of tickets for the annual Martin-Nixon football game, which will be played on Saturday, November 5, at 7:00 p.m. at the new Shirley Field Sports Complex. Tickets go on sale Monday, October 31.
 Reserved tickets for the game can be purchased at the Athletic Department’s office at Shirley Field at the North End Zone. The athletic office is open Monday- Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Detroit Beat Texas 7-5 to Win Game 5 of the ALCS

(AP NEWS)- The Detroit Tigers kept their playoff hopes alive Thursday night with a 7-5 win over the Texas Rangers. Justin Verlander pitched the Tigers to the win while Delmon Young hit two home runs.

(AP NEWS)-Randy Wolf survived a shaky second inning as the Milwaukee Brewers roared back to beat the Cardinals in St. Louis 4-2. The win evened up the best of seven NLCS after four games.

Rangers Beat Tigers, Take 3-1 Lead in ALCS

(AP News)-Nelson Cruz hit a three-run homer in the top of the 11th inning, as Texas beat Detroit 7-3 Wednesday night, for a 3-1 lead in the ALCS. Cruz is the first player ever to hit two extra-inning homers in the same postseason series.
