(AP News)-Nyjer Morgan did it again for Milwaukee, delivering an RBI single in the 10th inning to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2 Friday in Game 5 and send the Brewers to the NL championship series.

Laredo Baseball Team Announced

Mayor Pro Tempore Johnny Rendon, District V; Mark Schuster, Ventura Sports Group; Meghan Cantu, the 13-year old Trautmann Middle School student who came up with the team name and who has won season tickets for the baseball team for life; and District IV Cm. Juan Narvaez unveil the name of the Laredo Baseball Team, the Laredo Lemurs.

Brushdogs Remain Undefeated 23-18

Border Battle lll took place on Saturday July 16th at the UISD Student Activity Complex.  The game featured the Border Patrol Brushdogs who went into the game undefeated against the U.S. Customs Frontline Force.  The game was played to benefit low income families in our community.  Final score of the game was Brushdogs 23 Frontline Force 18. Laredo Defeats RGV Grandes, Sweep Season Series

 Edinburgh, Texas - The Laredo Heat SC (10 – 3 – 1, 31 points) took care of business versus the Rio Grande Valley Grandes FC (3 – 11 – 2, 11 points) at the Edinburgh Baseball Field, home to the Grandes. Celebrity Basketball Game to Benefit Local Charities

 The hard-court action heats up this summer when George Hill’s Rising All-Stars come to town to challenge our local law enforcement and elected officials to a celebrity basketball game to benefit two local charities. The game is scheduled for Thursday, July 14, at the Martin High School Colonel Flores Gymnasium.
 Laredoans will be treated to a basketball game featuring George Hill and his Rising All-Stars, and several professional athletes against representatives from Laredo’s Police Department, Fire Department, Border Patrol, and elected officials.
