Healthy Living/Viviendo Mejor Begins on November 29 and December 1

Laredo, TX—The City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD), in collaboration with the Laredo Health Coalition (LHC), is starting a new program to increase diabetes prevention awareness activities and improve diabetes self management to prevent complications.  Both efforts will improve positive health outcomes.

Veterans’ Day closure Notice

(Laredo, Tx)- All City of Laredo administrative offices will be closed today Friday, November 11, 2011, in observance of Veterans’ Day. Protective and emergency services will be operational. 
 There will be no recycling or trash pick-up on Friday; please note that the trash collection schedule will resume on Monday, November 14, 2011 on regularly scheduled routes.   The City of Laredo Landfill will be open on Friday; however, it will be closed on Saturday, November 12, 2011.

Candlelight Vigil To Be Held For Student

Martin-Nixon football game tickets on sale Monday October 31st

(Laredo, Tx)- The Laredo Independent School District’s Athletic Department announces the sale of tickets for the annual Martin-Nixon football game, which will be played on Saturday, November 5, at 7:00 p.m. at the new Shirley Field Sports Complex. Tickets go on sale Monday, October 31.
 Reserved tickets for the game can be purchased at the Athletic Department’s office at Shirley Field at the North End Zone. The athletic office is open Monday- Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Business Members of the Community Join Mariscos El Pescador in Supply Drive for Soldiers

Free flu vaccines offered for LISD kids

(Laredo, Tx)- Because healthy kids are better learners, the Laredo Independent School District will be offering free flu vaccines for LISD students.
 Now through November 15th, free flu vaccine clinics are scheduled for eligible students at all LISD campuses.
 Elementary school students have their flu vaccines clinics scheduled at their schools from October 19 through November 4. Parents/guardians must accompany their children.
 Middle and high school students are scheduled for flu vaccines from November 8, through November 15. Students must submit signed parent pre-consent forms with their school nurses. Parents do not …
