We are having a Steak Plate Sale Saturday April 10th 2010 at  O’reillys Auto Parts corner of Guadalupe and Tilden for Little Ruth Dalila Martinez 10 years of age whom has been stricken with Leukemia.  The Plate Sale will run from 11:00 a.m. thru 3:00 p.m. The Plates are going for $5. All monies will go towards  medical assistance for the little lady. Thanks for your participation.

 Laredo, TX.— The City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) is commemorating the fifth (5th) annual National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.  This is a day to raise awareness among women and girls about HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections and Teen Pregnancy.  A date to stress the importance of knowing your HIV status, to understand wellness and promote healthy behaviors that reduce the risk of HIV infection and co-morbidities.

 In an effort to help protect residents from the hard freeze expected tonight, Webb County will be opening several community centers where residents can take shelter overnight as temperatures  are expected to drop to the mid twenties.
            “We’ve been monitoring the weather forecasts and just want to make sure that anyone who needs shelter, will have access to it,” said Webb County Judge Danny Valdez.  “We have staff at the centers on call to help anyone who may need assistance to protect themselves from the cold.”

Laredo, TX – With the National Weather Service forecasting extremely cold temperatures across the nation, including South Texas, the City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) would like to remind the public to take precautions against extreme cold.

H1N1 Vaccine Clinic Sunday, December 6, 2009

Laredo, TX – The City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) in conjunction with Laredo Medical Center will be hosting an H1N1 Vaccine Clinic on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Laredo Medical Center, Community Center, Tower B, 1st Floor.  2000 vaccines are available and will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis.  There is no cost for the vaccine.
 The H1N1 vaccines will be administered to following priority groups:

Pregnant women
Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age

Laredo, TX – The City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) is offering limited amounts of seasonal flu vaccine for children between 6 and 35 months.  The cost for the seasonal flu vaccine is $4.00.  H1N1 vaccine continues to be offered to the general public especially those considered at risk (pregnant women, children under 5, students and those with underlying health conditions) as long as supplies are available. In addition some physicians have both vaccines available.  The H1N1 vaccine is free of charge.

Laredo, TX – The City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) is starting vaccination clinics at both LISD and UISD this Wednesday, November 18, 2009 with two vaccination clinics:
 

LISD: Heights Elementary (1208 Market St.) 8:00am – 12:00 pm.  This clinic is exclusive for students enrolled at this school
UISD: Washington Middle School (10306 Riverbank Dr.) 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm.  This clinic is for those students enrolled in Muller Elementary, Fasken Elementary, Kazen Elementary and Finley Elementary.
