The incident occurred at approximately 11:21 a.m. on Monday June 20, 2011. Officer Alberto Tijerina and Officer Gerardo Dimas were investigating a motor vehicle collision by 7200 Mines Road, when a vehicle pulled up to the scene and the driver and young passenger hurriedly exited the vehicle. Laredo Police are looking for Michael Angelo Morales, as a person of interest wanted for questioning in the death of Carmen Diaz-Garcia. Garcia was discovered on Monday evening in a home in the Green Ranch subdivision. Garcia, an apparent victim of a homicide, was found in her home alone. It is important to note that Michael Angelo Morales is a person wanted for questioning and is not charged, at this point of the investigation, with any criminal charges. On February 18, 2011, at approximately 5:00 pm, the Laredo Police Department communication section received a 911 call about a stolen vehicle that just occurred by 901 Matamoros St (Peppers Convenience Store). Caller stated to the 911 operator that her mother and she were run over by their vehicle when it was stolen by an unknown male subject. After being released from a San Antonio Hospital yesterday, Jorge Alberto Enriquez, was returned back to Laredo under police custody and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest. Enriquez allegedly stole a vehicle from a shopping Mall in the North side of town. The description was given out to patrol. A patrolman spots the Black in color Camaro near bridge #1. On Monday March 28th at approximately 12:30 am a Laredo police officer conducted a traffic stop on a blue in color van with an attached U-haul trailer near the 5900 block of IH -35. As the officer conducted his traffic stop questioning he noticed inconstancies in and behavior and the stories involving the travel and final destination between the driver and the passenger.

On Friday March 25th at approximately 11:55pm CAPROS Investigators executed a search warrant at The Gold Fish located at 2322 Jacaman Rd. One person by the name of Wendy Venegas was arrested on a warrant and charged with Gambling Promotion C/A. The two month investigation resulted in the seizure of $22,264 USC and 169 mother boards. Sergeant Luis Martinez a 15 year veteran of the Laredo Police Department was recently trained and certified as a Police Polygraphist in Austin, Texas at the Texas Department of Public Safety Academy. The Laredo Police Department has out sourced the use of a Polygraph examiner in Police candidate background checks and other criminal investigations.
