(Laredo, Tx)-Tickets for the Martin High School vs. Alexander High School Boys Basketball playoff game will be sold to the general public on Tuesday, February 28 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Martin High School cafeteria. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students. A limit of 4 tickets per person will be sold. Due to the high demand, a limited number of tickets will be sold. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Laredo Independent School District students will join hundreds of their peers across the city to celebrate the ninth annual National Education Association’s (NEA) Read Across America Day.
NEA’s Read Across America Day, which falls on Dr. Seuss’s birthday, expects more than 45 million readers, both young and old, to pick up a book and read.

(Laredo, Tx)- The Laredo Independent School District’s Office of Communications received Best of Show for external newsletters from the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA). The Communications staff’s community newsletter “Las Escuelas” was recognized as the best newsletter in the state of Texas. The awards were announced this week at the 2012 TSPRA Star Awards Celebration during the association’s annual conference in Austin, Texas.

(Laredo, Tx)- Martin High School US Army JROTC cadets will host the Rio Grande Valley Association’s Drill Competition on Saturday, February 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Drill Competition will take place at the new Shirley Field Sports Complex parking lot as well as the track and field of the new stadium.
