Dear District 3 Residents:

I am Ricardo “Ricky” Hinojosa and I want to strengthen public services for all residents of District 3 who are already paying for them through taxes.  We need a friend in Laredo’s City Council.  A representative that has one’s interest at heart.  One who understands what our needs are, I am a lifetime resident of our district.  I have been involved in our district by helping those who are in need of help in our neighborhoods.  Those who know me know that I have always had an open door policy at work or at home.  I have been in the forefront in issues involving our district.  You can be ASSURED that a vote for Rick “Ricky” Hinojosa will reflect a voice for all at council meetings.

Stop Balancing of Budgets with Tax Increases

(Laredo, TX)  City of Laredo City Secretary’s Office will hold a ballot drawing event at City Hall Council Chambers on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. for all candidates in municipal elections. The candidates will draw for order of appearance on the ballot.

 “This is an important part of the democratic process for our municipal candidates,” said Gustavo Guevara, City Secretary.  “It is important that the order of names on the ballot is selected as impartially as possible, and not using any other form of sequencing system, such as listing incumbents first; alphabetical order; or by age.”

The number selected by each candidate, or their designated representative, is the order their names will appear on the ballot for the election, to be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010.

 Candidates for municipal offices as of this morning are listed below.  The filing deadline for municipal candidates is today, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.
