Discharging a Firearm within a Municipality

                                            Firefighter Arrested

      On 03/23/09, at 7:17 p.m. officers responded to the 1200 block of Garden St. on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, Officers located several individuals outside a residence. Among the suspects, was Andres Mendoza. Upon further investigation officers at the scene discovered several 9 mm casings at the location. Consent to search was obtained and a 9 mm weapon was found inside the residence. Also found outside was an SKS rifle. Both weapons were recovered. CAPERS investigators assisted in the investigation. All subjects were brought for interviews and Gun Shot Residue tests were administered to the persons involved. The main suspect discovered to be responsible for the discharging of the firearm was Andres Mendoza 03-23-78.  Mendoza turned himself in at the main police station at approximately 5 p.m.  He was booked and transferred to Webb County Jail.  A bond amount was not available at the time of this release.
