KGNS Hosts Final Magic of Storytelling Event at Prada Elementary

(Laredo, Texas)-Students at Prada Elementary were in for a real treat this morning when none other than KGNS Meteorologist Jessica Fernandez was introduced as the guest reader for the final Magic of Storytelling event of the school year.
Fernandez read Squirrel’s New Years Resolution, by Ember Kathi. The book was selected to coincide with the Laredo of Tomorrow-Read for Life initiative both United ISD and KGNS are promoting. In the story, Squirrel learns about what resolutions are and why it’s important to set them. The students shared with Fernandez what resolutions they’ll be working to keep this year.
In addition to participating in this event, KGNS-ABC Laredo also donated 500 books to four campus libraries throughout the District. Disney’s The Magic of Storytelling Campaign aims to inspire imagination, cultivate a lifelong love of reading in kids, and bring books to undeserved communities across the country.
