(Laredo, Texas)-The Franklin D. Roosevelt National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) held its annual induction ceremony October 26, 2017, in the school gym. The Society annually acquires fourth and fifth grade students, who merit selection for candidacy upon careful consideration of their good grades and the responsibility they have shown.
NEHS President, Maricruz Treviño emceed the ceremony, which was solemnized through the lighting of candles representing the four qualities held in high esteem by the society. Natalie Ornelas lit the candle and spoke of Scholarship, Ameli Cantu on that of Responsibility, Rolando Vitela on the topic of Service, and Marianna Camara on the subject of Leadership.
The Society was honored to have Mrs. Jessica C. Salazar, Principal of Los Obispos Middle School, as guest speaker.
