It was an under the sea adventure at United ISD’s Prada Elementary

(Laredo, Tx)-First Grade students of Prada Elementary were treated like Disney royalty during KGNS’s Magic of Storytelling Event. Every detail was carefully thought out and perfectly executed. Everything from the colorful faux water dripping from the ceiling to The Little Mermaid music playing as students entered the Library created the perfect environment for today’s event.
The expressions on students’ faces and the oohs and ahhs as they walked in to the Library were a sure sign that this event will be one they will remember. Telemundo News Anchor Roberto Galvez was on hand to read the Spanish version of The Little Mermaid. Mr. Galvez shared stories about his love for reading and memories he had of reading as a child.
“Reading is a great way to take an adventure or visit a place far, far away. I love to read,” said Mr. Galvez. Campus Librarian, Eyleen Gutierrez, facilitated the event for the students to enjoy. This is the fourth stop for KGNS news anchors as part of this program.
