“Earth Day” Celebrated At VME

(Laredo, Texas)-In honor of Earth Day, Commissioner Jesse Gonzalez, Pct. 1 and City of Laredo Council Member Rudy Gonzalez, Jr., District I, donated trees to Veterans Memorial Elementary School and held a tree planting ceremony on April 21, 2017.
Pre-kinder and kinder students gathered for a ceremony to plant the trees in the back area of their campus. Pictured are Veterans Memorial Elementary School students with their principal, Luz Serna Ramirez, various United ISD Administrators, Superintendent Roberto J. Santos, Board Member Ricardo Molina, Sr. and Commissioner Gonzalez. The students said the project helped them learn about the importance of taking care of the earth. They thanked both the Commissioner and the City Council Member for their generous donation.
