TAMIU Announces New Arturo N. Benavides, Sr. Endowed Scholarship

(Laredo, Texas)-Today, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) officials announced that a generous gift of $100,000 has been pledged by Anna B. Galo and Arturo N. Benavides Jr. for the Arturo N. Benavides, Sr. Endowed Scholarship. The gift was presented to celebrate the Friday birthday of Benavides, Sr.
State Senator Judith Zaffirini was on hand to commemorate the establishment of the Scholarship in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library Colonnade and shared the words of Emerson as she noted, “The greatest gift of all is a portion of thyself.” Also present was County Commissioner John Galo, husband of Anna B. Galo.
