UNITED ISD HONORS LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS

(Laredo, Texas)-Several news outlets, that included radio, television, online media publications and newspaper, were named to the United I.S.D. 2016 Media Honor Roll on September 5, 2016. The program recognizes local media entities for their support of public school education.
“As we begin a new school year, United ISD would like to say “thank you” to these news entities for their support. Their coverage of our District allows us to share the challenges that we face as a District, as well as the successes achieved by our students and teachers,” said United ISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos.
The entities that were recognized included: City of Laredo Public Access, El Diario Newspaper, El Lider, El Mañana Newspaper, Laredo Morning Times, Guerra Communications, I Love Laredo Newspaper, KBNL Radio, KGNS, ABC, CW, and Telemundo, KHOY, Kid’s Connection, La Raza Radio Station, Laredo Buzz.Com, RCommunications, Univision & Fox, Laredo Today Newspaper, Televisa, Estereo 91 and Laredo Sports Wire.
“Each media entity plays a vital role in communicating District news and information to our parents, students, and community,” added Superintendent Santos.
The District also honored several community organizations for their support of our youth. They were the City of Laredo Police Department Community Relations Unit, Webb County Sheriff Community Affairs Unit, and the U.S. Border Patrol Community Liaison Division.
