Nye Elementary Accelerated Reader Kickoff Parade

(Laredo, Texas)-Reading Is Fun was the theme set for this year’s Accelerated Reading (A.R.) kickoff event at Nye Elementary. Friday, September 23 began with a parade that was well attended by parents. The atmosphere was perfect for a festive display that featured students, teachers and staff parading through the campus hallways dressed as famous book characters. The purpose of this event was to promote reading among A.R. students, and to encourage parents to read with their children at home.
