(Laredo, Texas)-Friends of LaredoBuzz.Com that include Justice of the Peace Ramiro Veliz Jr., Laredo Community College Trustee Jackie L. Ramos, Former Associate Municipal Court Judge Juan Caballero, The Webb County Sheriff’s Department, Cricket Communications,  and Commissioner Elect Pct.1 Jesse Gonzalez gathered once again to help give children of South Laredo a boost with school supplies.

For the seventh year in a row the event took place in which families are invited to bring their children to pick up free school supplies that are donated by local community leaders and organizations.  The  students who attended the event received spiral notebooks, crayons, glues, rulers, scissors, and much more needed supplies.  They also had an opportunity to select a book from a wide selection that are donated by Finley Elementary and their School Librarian Mrs. Jackie L. Ramos ( Laredo Community College Trustee.)

Not only do the children receive school supplies but hey also get to meet local celebrities like members of the Laredo Warhawks Ladies Football Team, Members of the Renegades of Wrestling and for the first time in the event’s history there was participation from a Norteño Group Grupo La Fuerza.

Also on hand to help with donations and offering their office services were Dr. Oscar Benavides, Budget Medical Care,  and Bubbles Therapy.

This year the event took place at the Peter Piper location on Zapata Hwy. this is the third year it takes place at that location before that it had taken place at Mariscos El Pescador the  event benefited over 200 children.
