United South High School’s Winter Guard Wins Big In State

(Laredo, Texas)-Congratulations to United South’s Winter Guard for earning 2nd place at the Texas Education Color Guard Association State Competition. The Team competed against 14 schools and scored an 83.47 and they are under the direction of Griselda Dozal. It has been an extreme season for the Panther Winter Guard, as they competed with over 10 returning state champions.
They make history by being the only Laredo school to maintain at the top 3 during the entire competition season with their show entitled ” Strength Within.” With only two years of winter guard experience the team has managed to earn State Champions in the novice category and now 2nd place in the Scholastic Regional A State Competition.
