Bonnie Garcia’s First Annual Dual Language Showcase Celebrates Mexican Culture and the Holidays

(Laredo, Texas)-Bonnie Garcia elementary school recently held its first Dual Language Showcase for Kindergarten, 1st and 2ndgrade students. The curriculum based event was tied into the Christmas holiday season, and featured poetry and music performed by 1st and 2nd grade students.
Kindergarten students were attired in colorful folkloric attire, and sampled cuisine native to particular Mexican states.
School Principal Dr. Cordelia A. Nava noted that the program was the culmination of the fall semester’s dual language activities. “I thank all of the Bonnie Garcia parents who came out to support their kids in the showcase.
Parental participation always enhances the learning experience for students”, she concluded.
