Five UISD Police officers receive FTO (Field Training Operations) Certification

(Laredo, Texas)-Five of United ISD’s Police officers receive their certification to become Field Training Officers “FTO” for the district. The officers took part in a three-day intensive course conducted by the Laredo Police Department.
They learned the skills they need to train other officers in the field. “We give them the tools they need and teaching methods so they can in turn go out-there and produce good officers that are ready for solo patrol, said LPD Training Officer Victor Barroso.”
“The overall goal of the officers is to make our schools as safe as possible, said UISD Police Chief, Clemente Camarillo.”
