Fasken Elementary NEHS Students Collect Toy Bears for a Great Cause!

(Laredo, Texas)-National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS), 5th graders from Fasken Elementary teamed up with the Webb County Sheriff’s Department to collect 200 stuffed bears for the Share-A Bear campaign, which is one of their community service programs. Local law enforcement officers will distribute the bears to local children who have been traumatized by crime or natural disaster.
“The toy bears give young children a bit of comfort in times of trauma and stress, and I am very pleased that our students were able to collect so many” , said Maria Teresa Guajardo-Diaz, Fasken Counselor and NEHS sponsor.
