UISD Purchasing Department Plans Ebid Portal for Vendors and Bidders

(Laredo, Texas)-On July 1, 2015, the United Independent School District (UISD), will launch a time saving, safe, on-line procurement portal that will greatly improve communication between the Districts’ Purchasing Department and its vendors and bidders.
This new portal, called E-bid, will enhance UISD’s ability to maintain accurate and up-to date information on the goods and services that vendors wish to sell to the District. In addition, E-bid will electronically notify registered vendors of bid opportunities for their goods and services.
It will also allow interested vendors to electronically submit their bids to the Purchasing Office for evaluation. It should be noted that Ebid will effectively phase out the current system of exchanging physical documents. All businesses wishing to offer their goods and services, or participate in UISD’s bid process will be required to register with the Ebid portal (at no charge) via the District’s website at www.uisd.net. Further details about how to register will be announced this summer.
