(Laredo, Tx)-The “Let’s Move for Scholars: Untamed Zumba Master Class” took place this past Saturday, January 17th at United Middle School’s Gymnasium.
The event was an extreme success with over 250 participants joining in the Zumbathon. This event not only emphasized the importance of health and fitness but also raised funds for college scholarships.
The sense of community and positive energy in the room was remarkable, and everyone left feeling happy, accomplished and proud of the money collected for scholarships. “United ISD wants to thank all the participants, sponsors and volunteers who helped make our 2nd annual event a great success,” said United ISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos.
A special thanks to our powerhouse instructors, Ana Rodriguez-Gutierrez, Karina Mendoza-Guerra, Veronica Vidal, Erika Mendoza, Luis Torres and Orlie Gonzalez. Also thanks to our Master of Ceremonies, Miguel Amante of Univision and Erick Soto “El Ranas” of La Raza Radio 95.7 for your incredible energy that set the tone for our high energy Zumba Master Class!
Over $3,000 was raised at this year’s event. “Events such as this one would not be possible without the help and support of the community. Thank you Laredo,” said Javier Montemayor, UISD School Board of Trustees President.
