Local man sent to jail on sexual assault charges

Laredo, TX (Webb County) – A Laredo man was arrested a day after Christmas after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman.
The woman was able to escape the aggressor and call Webb County Sheriff’s Office deputies after she was reportedly sexually assaulted.
Arrested was Andy Keith Cruz, 27, from the 3300 block of East Plum Street. When investigators from the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division interviewed him, they had sufficient information to arrest Cruz.
Cruz now faces charges for Sexual Assault, Felony 2. He was also arrested on a warrant for Criminal Non-support. He remains at the Webb County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
