Webb County Sheriff’s Office arrests volunteer firefighters for arson

Laredo, TX (Webb County) – The Webb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) arrested two men following multiple arson cases in El Cenizo, Texas.

The Sheriff’s CID received reports indicating that multiple abandoned homes in El Cenizo had been purposely set on fire on numerous nights. During the month-long investigation, officials interviewed witnesses and questioned possible suspects. CID gathered enough information to conclude that the arson cases were being committed by individuals from the El Cenizo Volunteer Fire Department.

Volunteer firefighter Pablo Ernesto Figueroa-Osorio, 18, of Laredo was arrested on two counts of Arson, Felony 2 and one count of Arson (Conspiracy), Felony 3. The other volunteer, Jeremy Aaron Jones, 27, was arrested on one count of Arson (Conspiracy), Felony 3. Figueroa-Osorio was released on a $105,000 bond. Jones was released on a $15,000 bond.

The investigation is on-going.
