Webb County and Corporate Donors Donate Funds for School Supplies

Webb County Judge Danny Valdez’ Community First initiative, Guerra Communications, IBC and AEP donated funds to buy school supplies for economically disadvantaged students in UISD and LISD.
Each school district received a check for $7750.00 during a presentation ceremony at the Webb County Courthouse on August 14, 2014. UISD Board President Javier Montemayor Jr. expressed his appreciation for the donation to UISD by saying that the money would help many students who would otherwise worry about having an adequate amount of learning supplies for the school year.
UISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos joined Montemayor in thanking Judge Valdez and all corporate sponsors for supporting students in local public schools. “At UISD, over half of our 44,000 students will benefit from this contribution. The funds are going to make a wonderful difference for our students”, said Santos.
