badgeLAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Laredo Port of Entry this week apprehended a Plano man wanted in Greenville County, Texas in connection with an outstanding warrant for homicide.

“CBP officers working primary inspection duties are our front line of defense and this week they discovered a man with an outstanding homicide warrant,” said Joseph Misenhelter, Port Director, Laredo. “Their alertness, vigilance and commitment to the CBP mission with apprehensions like these help keep our community safe.”

The fugitive apprehension occurred on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 at the Gateway to the Americas Bridge during an examination of a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup arriving from Mexico. A CBP officer at primary inspection referred vehicle passenger Flavio Cesar Segura, 19, a U.S. citizen from Plano, Texas for a secondary examination. During the examination, CBP officers verified Segura’s identity, citizenship and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding state warrant from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office for homicide. After confirming the warrant was active, CBP officers transported Segura to Webb County jail and turned him over to Webb County sheriff’s deputies for adjudication of the warrant.
