(Laredo, Tx)-After a Special City Council meeting, in which the results of the recent run-off election for council member for District VII were declared to be true and correct, District VII Council Member Jorge Vera was sworn in to his first full term as council member for the district; Cm. Vera previously served out the balance of previous Council Member Jose A. Valdez, Jr.’s remaining term.
Cm. Vera was sworn in by Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Place 1 Judge Hector Liendo.
After the ceremony, Cm. Vera thanked all of the volunteers who helped to make his campaign a success, including his two former opponents who ended up endorsing him, the different associations who also helped his campaign and several of his colleagues on council who helped to support his re-election bid. Vera went on to say that he intended to continue to serve with honesty and integrity, truly representing his constituents and their needs.
