Laredoans Should Expect Traffic Congestion, Delays Related to U.I.S.D. U.I.L Band Competition

Courtesy Xochitl Mora,

(Laredo,Tx)-This Saturday, October 27, 2012, beginning at 7 AM, 42 high school bands, and their families and friends will descend upon Laredo for the 2012 UIL Area G-5A Marching Band Contest.  This will mean a significant impact to areas along Bob Bullock Loop 20 at Jacaman from the Laredo Energy Arena and south towards the City Hall Annex and headed east along State Highway 359 towards the U.I.S.D. Student Activity Complex.

Local motorists are asked to avoid traveling in the area if at all possible or to find alternate routes to their destinations.  Please obey all traffic control signs and expect major congestion and delays in these areas.  The peak high volume traffic is expected to be between 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; however, this section and all major arterials and thoroughfares may also be impacted throughout the day as well.

Laredoans are asked to be patient with the traffic that will be created by the high school bands and their supporters.  Any northbound traveling Laredoans from any of the areas or to the areas mentioned must leave at least one hour earlier for their expected arrival time.
