Girl Scouts to sponsor “Power of the Purse” Event Today

(Laredo, Tx)-More than 25 beautiful purses will be auctioned during an event to benefit the Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas on Thursday, April 19. at La Posada Hotel’s San Agustin Ballroom.  “The Power of the Purse” event is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.

City of Laredo to Help Celebrate Grand Opening of New Offices for City’s Delinquent Tax Attorney

 (Laredo, TX )  The City of Laredo will be on hand to celebrate the grand opening of the new offices for the City’s delinquent tax attorney, Flores & Saucedo, PLLC, as they officially move into their new offices, located at 5517 McPherson, Suite 14 on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 10 AM.  The firm will have an official ribbon-cutting ceremony that day, with City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. CBP Officers at World Trade Bridge Seize Over Two Tons of Marijuana in Truck Carrying Auto Parts

 LAREDO, TEXAS – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry on Monday seized more than two tons of alleged marijuana hidden in a commercial truck.   The seizure occurred on April 16, 2011 during an examination conducted at the World Trade Bridge import lot. A CBP officer referred a 1995 Volvo tractor hauling a commercial shipment of auto parts for a secondary examination. CBP officers performed an intensive examination and discovered 189 bundles commingled with the shipment containing a total of 4,161 pounds …
