“Operation Clean-Up” hits District VI

Laredo, TX—Inspectors from various City departments will team up on FRIDAY, March 2, 2012 to make a sweep of an area in City Council District V educating about and enforcing City of Laredo codes.

Street To Be Closed For Emergency Repairs

(Laredo, Tx)- CenterPoint Energy crews will be closing the 1800 block of Houston Street to repair a gas leak in the area.  Please follow all detour signs.  The closures will last approximately all day today, TUESDAY, February 28, 2012.

TAMIU Hosts Historic ACDFA Conference Feb. 28 – March 3

(Laredo, Tx)-Over 500 dancers from a four-state region will converge on Laredo and Texas A&M International University for an historic offering of the American College Dance Festival Association (ACDFA) Conference  Feb. 28 – Saturday, March 3, 2012.
            The TAMIU ACDFA Conference, dubbed “Bridging Paths,” represents the South-Central region including Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.  It offers an opportunity for students and faculty to engage in four and a half days of performances, workshops, panels, and master classes taught by instructors from around the region and country.

Martin vs. Alexander Basketball Playoff Game Tickets

(Laredo, Tx)-Tickets for the Martin High School vs. Alexander High School Boys Basketball playoff game will be sold to the general public on Tuesday, February 28  from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Martin High School cafeteria. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students. A limit of 4 tickets per person will be sold. Due to the high demand, a limited number of tickets will be sold. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Concrete Reinforcement Closes Bustamante Saunders Intersection for Entire Month

 Beginning today, Monday, February 27, 2012 and continuing until Friday, March 30, 2012, weather permitting; the intersection of Bustamante and Saunders will be closed.
 Zertuche Construction and Brothers Paving will be continuously working at the intersection by removing old and damaged asphalt and replacing it with reinforced concrete to enhance and improve 300 yards along Bustamante.

TxDOT Anticipates Future Funding Opportunities and Plans for Priority Projects Around the State
