LAREDO, Tx – On Sunday, February 5, 2012 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Star Operations will install an overhead Dynamic Message Sign (board) over the IH 35 southbound mainlanes between milepost markers 1 and 2, approximately between Lafayette St. and the Jefferson St. overpass.
The traveling public can expect lane closures. Motorists should SLOW DOWN, MERGE to open lanes and DRIVE with EXTREME CAUTION while keeping a watchful eye for work crews.
Please observe all advance warning signs, road markings and channelization devices in and around the work area.

(Laredo, Tx)- The Office of District Attorney Isidro R. Alaniz reports that Ricardo Gomez pled guilty yesterday to one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and was sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Gomez was charged with having violated two female children in April of 2009. The children are not related to him, but he was in a position of trust when he violated them. After the children’s mother became suspicious of Gomez, a report was filed with the Laredo Police Department.

(Laredo, Tx)-A tractor trailer accident occurred at mile post marker 29 on the north bound lane. The traveling public is being detoured to exit IH 35 at mile post 18 to continue their travel to SH 44 and IH 35 to Encinal.
The traveling public is urged to slow down, watch out for the road maintenance crews, obey all warning signs, and traffic control at the accident site.

(LAREDO, TEXAS) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry on Thursday apprehended an East Texas man wanted on an outstanding warrant for sexual assault in Montgomery County , Texas . The apprehension occurred on Jan. 26 2011 at Gateway to the Americas Bridge . A CBP officer referred a Dodge Ram pickup driven by Danny Ray Rancher, a 56-year-old male U.S. citizen from Willis , Texas for a secondary examination. (Laredo, Tx)-More than 200 local and area middle and high school students will have the opportunity to explore careers in science at the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Day Friday, Jan. 27 from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the TAMIU Lamar Bruni Science Center and Planetarium.
