City of Laredo Initiative Brings Chilean Wood Products Through Laredo

(Laredo, Tx)-The City Laredo is the new primary port of entry for Chilean wood products entering the United States.  Since early 2010, the City of Laredo has been building a relationship with the Chilean Commerce of Production and Commercial Development (Camara de la Producction y del Comercio de Concepcion), or CPCC as it is known by its acronym in Spanish.  The group recently opened a CPCC office here in Laredo, to better facilitate the import of their products through Laredo into the United States.

Heart and Stroke Prevention through Community-Wide CPR Awareness Day

Laredo, TX –The City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) wants to thank all the partners who are working together on the Community-Wide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Awareness Day to take place at the Student Activity Center (SAC) this Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
 Through the Heart and Stroke Healthy City initiative, we have been given the gold recognition for reducing heart and stroke risks, in large part by training persons in CPR and AED use. We encourage families to learn how to save a family …

(Laredo, Tx)_Approximately 700 senior citizens from nine local adult daycare centers will be treated to a pre-holiday Thanksgiving luncheon celebration, with food, music and a chance to win prizes with a fun raffle for the elderly in attendance.  Additionally, each senior will be given a food basket.
