 (LAREDO) – Eleven students from Laredo high schools, Laredo Community College and Texas A&M International University were honored with $1,000 scholarships by the Mr. South Texas Foundation (MSTF) on Wednesday (June 15).

Texas A&M International University Dusty Orientation Camp

The Fall semester at TAMIU is just around the corner and new students and first-time freshmen will participate in the summer’s first New Student Orientation, Dusty Camp, scheduled Thursday and Friday, June 16-17.
         The Dusty Camp experience focuses on giving students information that sets the stage for atimely and purposeful transition to University life. The required overnight program for all first-time entering TAMIU freshmen is designed to give them the necessary tools to be successful as they begin their TAMIU studies.

Justices To Hold Court In Laredo

 Webb County will host the Honorable Justices from the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals as they convene panels Thursday and hear cases in Commissioners Court at the Webb County Courthouse located at 1000 Houston.  The first panel will convene at 8:30 a.m.

Rep. Guillen Announces $81,127 For Webb County Juvenile Defender Program

 Grant will assist in providing more local services related to juvenile defenseAUSTIN — State Representative Ryan Guillen (D-Webb County) announced today that Webb County will receive $81,127 in grant funds from the Texas Task Force on Indigent Defense (TFID) to continue its efforts to offer quality, defense services to indigent juveniles facing charges.
