City of Laredo Administrative Offices will be closed on Friday December 31, 2010 in observance of New Year’s Eve.
Protective and emergency services will be operational.
Please be aware that there will be NO trash, recycling or lawn clippings collection service on Friday. Garbage and recycling collection schedule will resume on Monday, January 3, 2010 on regularly scheduled routes.

In observance of the New Year’s holiday, all Webb County administrative offices will be closed Thursday, December 30, and Friday, December 31, 2010.
The holiday closure includes the Webb County Tax Assessor Collector’s Office.
The Webb County Sheriff’s Department will continue all services on its regular schedule.

Laredo, TX – -During this past week, influenza activity in the United States has increased. Of the 4,733 specimens tested by U.S. World Health Organization (WHO) and National Respiratory and Enteric Virus Surveillance System (NREVSS) collaborating laboratories and reported to CDC/Influenza Division, 744 (15.7%) were positive for influenza. Mississippi is the only state that has confirmed widespread Influenza activity. In Texas, 940 specimens have been tested of which 160 were positive. 88.1% of positive results have been for Influenza A.

Laredo, Tx-The Laredo Police Department filed a missing person’s report on behalf of the parent’s of 12 year old Shakira Anahi Centeno. Shakira, who also goes by the nickname “Bibis”, went missing yesterday at the 3200 block of Quatro Vientos Drive. Shakira is 5 feet tall, weighs approximately 120 lbs, has brown hair, brown eyes, medium complexion, was last seen wearing a brown and pink blouse, blue jeans, and black boots. Laredo, Tx-Local Boxer Gabriel Holguin and Friends teamed up once again to bring a smile to local Webb County Headstart students with gifts they brought for Christmas. Holguin was accompanied by the Laredo Police Department Blue Santa who handed out the gifts to the kids. The kids enjoyed holiday cookies and surprised Santa with the singing of a Christmas Carol. Earlier this year Holguin had visited the kids during Easter bringing them Easter Baskets.
