LAREDO, TEXAS – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry seized marijuana and cocaine valued at $1.5 million in three separate enforcement actions, prohibited agricultural items and six alleged immigration violators at the international bridges over the course of five days from Nov. 24th through Nov. 28th.

On Monday, November 29, 2010, at approximately 1:09 a.m. While conducting routine patrol duties an LPD Officer checking two vagrants behind the Gateway Shopping Center witnessed the rear door to a business swing open up and saw several people running out of the establishment screaming. Utility work for new Shirley Field will cause temporary street closure
Sendero Industries, the contractor for the new L.I.S.D. Shirley Field Sports Complex, will temporarily close Santa Maria Avenue, between Poggenpohl Street and Shea Street, on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to finish repairing the street pavement in the area.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Leslie Nielsen, who traded in his dramatic persona for inspired bumbling as a hapless doctor in “Airplane!” and the accident-prone detective Frank Drebin in “The Naked Gun” comedies, died on Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was 84.
The Canadian-born actor died from complications from pneumonia at a hospital near his home at 5:34 p.m., surrounded by his wife, Barbaree, and friends, his agent John S. Kelly said in a statement. (Read More)
