Small Business Jobs Bill to Bring Immediate Relief to Texas

Bill signed into law focuses on tax breaks, small business support to spur job creation
Washington D.C. – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) announced that a $30 billion-lending fund to increase lending to small businesses became law yesterday.  The legislation also contains nearly $12 billion in tax cuts for small businesses.
The $30 billion in funds, administered by the Treasury Department, will be distributed to neighborhood and community banks who can make new loans to small businesses with incentives such as loan limit increases and loan guarantee extensions for loan programs. …

Webb County Judge Danny Valdez and the Commissioners Court will hold a press conference Tuesday, September 28th to introduce the newly created Webb County Fire Department.  The press conference will take place at 2 p.m. at the Webb County Courthouse located at 1000 Houston.

The closure of IH 35 Southbound frontage road (SBFR) between from IH 35 SB exit #4 through Santa Maria Ave. and Del Mar Blvd. has been extended to Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 9 p.m. due to continuation of milling, paving and installation of pavement markings of the IH 35 SBFR. Originally, closure was scheduled for September 24-25, 2010.

Sheriff Martin Cuellar Deploys an Additional Piece of Technology

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) –The Webb County Sheriff’s Office is stepping technology to the next level.  Sheriff Martin Cuellar introduced “The Terra Hawk” yesterday morning at a press conference.  The “Terra Hawk”, a mobile surveillance unit, is designed for rapid response, ease of deployment and tactical superiority in surveillance.  It will serve as a valuable instrument in surveillance, crime deterrence and safety for Webb County.
