Man Indicted in Stabbing Death of Stepdaughter

The Office of District Attorney Isidro R. Alaniz reports that Efrain Colindres was indicted late Tuesday, August 17th by a grand jury in the 341st District Court in the murder of his stepdaughter, Ana Isabel Chavez.
Colindres is formally accused of having stabbed his stepdaughter six times with a kitchen knife on May 28, 2010.
First responders to the defendant’s home located on the six-hundred block of West San Francisco Street found the fourteen year old girl unresponsive and declared her dead at the scene.
Colindres is charged with one count of Murder, a first degree felony.
